Cave Tour

The walls are the living rock of the cliff face.

Our cave is small like its name but feels much bigger because of the high ceilings. There are no straight lines anywhere. The walls are arched to support the weigh of the stone overhead. The stone, called Tuffeau, is a soft creamy white. Like the other caves in Lavardin, it was orginally made to quarry the stone for building houses, churches, and the village's ruined Chateau.
